Settling in part 2

I was going to go to the farmer's market today, but the only one on today is 40 miles away, so I'll go tomorrow to the one that's 20 miles away.

Anyway, after Mom and I finished lunch on Monday we walked back to the apartment, and took the opportunity to admire the bananadillas on the side of the road. We'd examined them on the way to the diner, and had originally been unsure as to whether or not they were bananadillas but then I suddenly spotted a large white-and-purple flower and said, "Mom, isn't that a passion fruit flower?" And it was. We opened one of the fruit, which is more orange and less elongated than the bananadillas we know, and it had a lot of red seeds inside. The bananadillas I remember have black seeds, and we decided it must be a different variety.

After we got back to the apartment we decided to sit by the pool and enjoy the cool weather. It was nice, but I still felt a little chilly, and I'm glad I brought along all the sweaters I did.

I fell asleep in my chair while Mom was reading her book, and at five o clock I finally woke up and felt ready to do something. Mom suggested we walk to the CVS to pick up some essentials, which we did, but there wasn't much there that we wanted, so we walked across the plaza to the big grocery store called Ralph's and got chocolate milk and some other necessities.

The girl with my car finally texted me at about 8:40 saying she was ten minutes away. We waited outside the gate for twenty minutes and finally she called and said she'd parked nearby and we walked there and picked up my car.

I had my Garmin GPS with me so we immediately went to Target and got a nice gray armchair that folds out into a single bed, two standing lamps, and a shower caddy. Then we went back to the apartment and Mom assembled the armchair while I hauled up everything from the trunk of my car.
We were exhausted and went to bed at about 11 pm Pacific time, having woken up at 4 am Eastern time.
